(1753 Kawagoe-6/19/ or 10/31/1806 Edo) (Japan); aka Toriyamauta-maro, Minamoto / Nobuyoshi / Ichitaro / Yuki / Feude No Ayamaru / Toyoaki / Ikke, Shiokurjisei

   Painter and woodcut artist. One of the most renowned Ukiyo-e artists, especially revered in the West. A frequent subject was the "Green houses," brothels of the Yoshiwara. One of this most beautiful erotic albums was "The Pillow Song" ("Uta-makura").
